Books Over TV

I love to acquire, hoard, stack, shelve, smell, read and share books. I review books. I stare at books. You get it, right?

Scent of Magic

Scent of Magic - Maria V. Snyder Avry of Kazan is my hero! She is a fierce, kick ass, determined, loyal, defeat less, unstoppable, relentless, and caring heroin. The action is this book was non stop and the world building was amazing. The heart wrenching love interest wasn't bad either. There's just one word to describe Ms. Snyder's writing and that is "AMAZING." I wanted to savor this book but couldn't as I devoured it. I couldn't help myself. You are immersed in this world and the people. You grow to love them or to hate them with such fury at times I thought I would crack my kindle from holding it so tight.Let's talk about the covers... the UK editions are gorgeous! They are, in my opinion, much better than the US. I've wanted to read Touch of Power for over a year now and kept passing it by on Amazon. It called to me every time. I requested Scent of Magic as soon as I saw it available on Netgalley before I had read the first book but now I had a reason to do so. After reading Touch of Power I couldn't imagine loving the second book as much as the first. Ms. Snyder didn't disappoint. What a wonderful vivid imagination with the ability to write fluidly with consistency in her novels. I'm impressed and will read everything she writes. This is a series that I would recommend to all readers not just those who love strong characters and fantasy but who appreciate a fantastic well written story.I will eventually reread these books to capture everything I missed the first time because there's so much in them I know I didn't pay attention to all the wonderful details.
