Having a hard time
I've had to DNF three books this week. I realize that I can't read a book with clunky writing. I love literature. I enjoy reading books were the sentence is well constructed and the voice of the characters are true to the period of the story. I'm noticing more and more that many books feel rushed, not well constructed and/or the writing is off/distracting.
Researching the books I'm seeing 4 or 5 star ratings so, I continue only to be confused by my lack of interest and high expectations due to the ratings. Words must flow. I can't continue on just to get to the plot if I'm having no fun getting there.
I hope I've made some sense here.
